Bert Boyden Health & Wellbeing Centre
The Bert Boyden Health & Wellbeing Centre is one of 4 centres providing support for people with complex needs and disabilities.
The BBH&WBC caters for predominantly older people who have a wide range of problems from dementia to social isolation. We offer a wide range of social and leisure activities to older people who have a level of need that means they are no longer able to access community services, even with support, helping them to continue to live in their own home or with their family or carer
Both of our day centres provide a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment where older people can take part in a wide range of activities. We offer practical support and the opportunity to:
- enjoy a variety of activities and have the opportunity to socialise
- develop and practice skills
- find out about the things that people can and cannot manage
- We also provide a nourishing meal and refreshments throughout the day
We arrange Transport to and from the centres if appropriate.
We also support a Memory Cafe held at the Centre on a Friday afternoon in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society.
The Café is a friendly, informal setting for people with dementia, their carers and families to meet and socialise with others .
Information is available on a variety of different topics associated with dementia. The activities encourage people with dementia and their carers to be less socially isolated and to improve their quality of life.
The Centre is open Monday to Friday
